The Influence of Classroom Environment on Learning

We see in almost all schools and in all classes misbehavior and behavior students. The classroom environment has a powerful influence on learning, and children's perceptions of that environment influence their behavior. The most successful students are those that show to the teacher their trust, respect, care, show motivation during the instruction period, involvement, interest to acquire new information. On the other hand, there are another group of students which are the least successful students who perceived the class to be more teacher controlled and competitive. These big differences come from the teacher of the way he/she treats his/her classmates. The teacher is responsible for:

  • Being able to show caring, and respect to all students
  • Providing students with interesting, challenging work that makes them engaged more
  • Create safe, non-threatening environment where learning is less competitive and students are able to form supportive relationships with one another
  • Treating all students equally and evoking bias
  • Answering student's questions
  • Giving the opportunity for all to participate during class activities and discussions
  • Knowing how to behave with the misbehavior(s)

The positive classroom environment gives the students the motivation to proceed in the success and to feel more comfortable and more free to act as thinkers and brilliant persons. The more you like your teacher the more you like the class and the more you become productive and self encouraging. So the teacher is the main cause for the positive or negative classroom environment.
